Best Revival of a Play

1. The Country Girl (very likely)
2. Macbeth (very likely)
3. The Homecoming (probably)
4. Top Girls (maybe)
Commentary: I think this will likely be the most difficult major category to predict because there were so many well received revivals this season. I have a feeling that "The Country Girl" will be the overall production to beat due to its stars and director. "Macbeth" was fairly well reviewed at BAM and will very likely receive a nomination. "The Homecoming" received the strongest reviews of any show eligible in this category and is probably going to be nominated, but won't win because it will have closed. The last spot is a real toss-up, but I think ultimately MTC's "Top Girls" which will be running at the time of the nominations and the Tonys will be nominated. "Cyrano" was the rare commercial and critical success in this season and voters may want to reward it with at least a nomination and "Come Back, Little Sheba" could sneak in based on its strong reviews. There is a good chance that "Boeing-Boeing", or "Les Liaisons Dangereuses" could grab the last spot, but we won't know until the reviews start coming out. The other shows eligible in this category, "The Ritz", "Pygmalion", "Old Acquaintance", and "Cymbeline" will most likely not be nominated as they will all have closed and didn't make very strong impressions.
