"Billy Elliot" and "Next to Normal" are the two guarantees in this category and will ultimately be competing for the award. We'll have to wait for the final reviews, but I think that "9 to 5" will score a nod in this category given its pedigree and the reviews from its LA tryout. The final slot I think will go to the "Rock of Ages" which will be the "Xanadu" of this year (given a bunch of nominations, and will perform well on the telecast, but will walk away empty handed).
If "Rock" or "9 to 5" don't receive nods, I think that "[title of show]" or "Shrek: the Musical" could sneak in, with a slight edge going to "Shrek" simply because it is still running.
